Tuckahoe’s Student Support Team will be hosting a parent coffee on Tuesday,December 3 at 9 AM in the Teacher’s Lounge. The topic will be “Value of limits, structures, and expectations for children.” Michael Swisher, a parent educator with the Partnership for Children, Youth and Families, of the Arlington Department of Human Services will be our guest speaker.
The Partnership is pleased to offer this presentation to groups of adults who care about children (parents, guardians, neighbors, etc.) to build and strengthen the skills and attitudes that will help them foster a closer bond with their children . The Arlington Partnership for Children, Youth, and Families recognizes that raising children is one of the most challenging, and rewarding, jobs that we have – and most people do it with little to no training. Research shows that a strong and positive parent-child relationship is crucial to a child’s development. Children who feel emotionally safe are more likely to speak with their parents about difficult topics – and less likely to engage in risky behaviors.
If you plan to attend please RSVP here: 12/3 Parent Coffee.
