My name is Bolormaa Jugdersuren and I was born in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia where I acquired a love of singing Mongolian traditional songs called “urtiin duu” and a love of teaching. I have been fortunate to combine these passions by becoming a music teacher. I studied Music Education at the Mongolian Pedagogical College for four years and received my teaching degree. After college, I became a music teacher at the elementary and middle school levels. Later, and with a full scholarship, I earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Music Degrees from the Mongolian University of Art and Culture. I have been a singer at the Mongolian Opera House, have appeared in several operas, and have sung in many countries. After receiving my Master’s Degree, I was the first young artist invited to be a full-time Professor of Voice at the School of Music of the Mongolian University of Art and Culture. I earned a second Master’s Degree of Music from The Peabody Institute of The Johns Hopkins University, where I was the first Mongolian student ever educated at The Peabody Institute. I have been the recipient of many awards and have won countless competitions on the national level, both in Mongolia and in the United States. In addition to music and teaching, I also love to ride horses, dance, collect miniature toy horses, and spend time with my children.
