Welcome to Tuckahoe Elementary School Physical Education!

At Tuckahoe Elementary School the Physical Education Program is one in which students are introduced to a wide range of skill themes and movement concepts (building a foundation).  Each class is comprised of health, nutrition and skill-related fitness activities.  A learning environment that is focused on Tuckahoe’s 3 R’s (Rights, Respect and Responsibility) is provided and thus enables all students to achieve SUCCESS.

The goal of Tuckahoe’s Physical Education program is for all students to appreciate and participate in physical activities their entire lifetime.  The Physical Education staff looks forward to another exciting and healthy 2025 – 2026 school year.

My name is Andres Hernandez, and I am a native of Arlington, VA, as well as a graduate of Yorktown High School. Sports have played a major role in shaping who I am and have opened many doors for me throughout my life. I believe physical education should empower all students to recognize the value of movement, health, and teamwork. At Tuckahoe, our PE program fosters an inclusive and supportive environment where students build physical skills, develop meaningful social connections, and establish lifelong habits that promote overall well-being.
